Who I am

 It is great to have the opportunity to share a little bit about myself. My name is Kimberly Middlebrook. (Kim)

 I was born and raised in Connecticut and at a very young age I became aware of the healing benefits, and spiritual connection that our pets can provide for us. At times, in my childhood, when I was feeling low or just needed to talk , my pets would listen to me diligently, and without a word, they would give me a gentle, kind look of understanding as if to say, "we are here for you and we love you unconditionally."

 It was my childhood dream to enter a profession where I could be with my much loved animal companions. Instead I completed an Associate’s degree in Nutrition, and in 1988 moved to Tennessee where I spent the next nine years working as a Dietary Manager.

 One bright, sunny afternoon in the spring of 1997, I was thumbing through a Cat Fancy magazine, and contemplating a career change. I saw an ad for a book titled Pet Sitting for Profit. The author of the book is Pattie Moran, Director of Pet Sitters International. I bought the book, read it through a few times, and in June of 1997, was on my way to fulfilling my childhood dream. Home Comfort Pet Sitting Service was created and has flourished over the past sixteen years.

 I have completed a Bachelors degree in Psychology with an emphasis in animal behavior. My most recent learning endeavor in 2012 has involved completion of a comprehensive dog obedience training program, which allowed me to work part time as an accredited pet instructor.
